Monkey Head / By: Simon Davies

A rock journalist was hired by someone to write our bio. It started by saying that we met in rehab when we were twelve years old.
It also said that our bass player made porn films to pay for our record. As much as we wanted that stuff to be true, it's not.
The real reason you're not seeing his version is that it didn't say the only thing that matters to us; we're a rock band.

Like I said we're a rock band, so keep reading if you want to know how that happened. Then buy our fucking record.

I met Jason Hook in high school. We hung out because we liked the same records.
We wrote songs and started a band playing every dive bar on the continent. Eventually it got to where we were opening for bands like Skid Row as well as headlining big clubs but we couldn't find the two other guys we needed to be the real rock n' roll band. Our last gig together was at the Limelight in NYC.

Jason Hook went to LA to do a record with producer Beau Hill.
I went to New York to go to art school and made a record with a glam-punk band
called "Average White Girl".

Then we heard about these two other guys that were just like us.
Hey, it only took us ten years.

In 1996 we formed Monkey Head. Here's where the story gets simple. We wrote the songs we wanted to write. Made the record we wanted to make. We didn't apologize for our music or compromise the core of our sound. Because we're a product of all the trashy, balls out rock 'n roll cliché's we grew up on. And trust me, it's only gonnna get worse.

Anyway, I had to leave a lot out, so e-mail us if you have a good question.
We will e-mail you back. But only if you buy our fucking record.
